Foods Toxic to Dogs: The Ones to Never Feed
Several common human foods are toxic to dogs, including chocolate, grapes and raisins, onions, garlic, macadamia nuts, and anything sweetened with xylitol. These can cause problems ranging from kidney failure to a dangerous drop in blood cells, and some are emergencies even in small amounts.
The foods below are either toxic to dogs or not recommended. Tap any one for the full vet-reviewed guide with symptoms, how much is dangerous, and exactly what to do if your dog got into it. If you know your dog ate something toxic, do not wait for symptoms, call your veterinarian, the Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) right away.
