- Compact build
- Moderately narrow head
- Deep set, round eyes
- V-shaped ears fall forward next to cheeks
- Muscular neck
- Coat: Short, straight hair, white with black or tan
- Height: 12-15.5 inches
- Weight: 16-18 pounds
- Average lifespan: 15 years
Temperament
- Lively, affectionate, brave, joyful, entertaining, loyal, expressive
- Interaction with people: Good with children
- Interaction with animals: May be agressive with other dogs and attack small pets such as birds and cats
- Level of attention needed: Doesn't like to be left alone; gets bored easily
- Training: Needs firm training as a puppy; can be willful and challenge owner for dominance
- Bark: Can be highly vocal
- Protection: Good watch dog
