Physical Characteristics
- Luxurious fur comes in medium, semi-dense shorthairand medium-length longhair
- Coat is naturally water-resistant
- Naturally bobbed tail; no two tails are exactly the same
- Average tail length is 1 to 4 inches
- Broad wedge-shaped head
- Large almond-shaped eyes
- Noted for its wild look
- Well-muscled, athletic animal
- Resembles and moves like a bobtailed wildcat
- Slow maturing breed; takes two to three years to reach full adulthood
Temperament
- Very smart, affectionate, gentle, adaptable
- Noted for their 'dog-like' personalities and devotion to their owners
- Good with most dogs and new people or pets
Medical Conditions
- Needs boosters by 12 weeks old
- Annual vet visit for checkups is important

At Home
- Bonds with its family
- Does best indoors
- Needs sufficient scratching device
- Declawing is not recommended
- Kittens are available after 12-16 weeks

- Found to be well-behaved and sensitive to people in distress; used by psychotherapists in their treatment programs
