White House history includes long list of pets
WebVet staff report
The White House has a long history of presidential pets. Almost all of the U.S. presidents have had pets, from George Washington (12 horses and 36 hounds) to George W. Bush’s dogs, Miss Beazley, Barney, and Spot, and cat, India. Dogs are the overwhelming pet of choice for presidential families. The past 43 presidents have owned no less than 112 dogs between them. Now we'll have to wait and see who the newest White House pet will be. Click here for the full story.
