If you're reading this blog, you're clearly an animal lover.  Well, guess what.  You're not alone!  Did you know that more than 82 million households own pets?  That translates to almost 68% of all U.S. households, and that's roughly two times the number with children under the age of 18 living at home.

As pet ownership grows, so do the industries that serve them.  In 2012 pet owners spent almost $14 billion on veterinary care and dogs and cats alone accounted for more than 200 million visits to the vet.   So, calling all wanna' be vets!

To learn more about the growth of the pet category and the opportunities available to the vets and vet techs of the future, check out this really cool infographic provided to us by Brown Mackie College.  As always, we love to hear about all the great things happening in the veterinary world that will ultimately deliver more care and compassion to those we love the most . . . our pets!
