Zumba and animals?

This Sunday (April 15th) in Richmond, Kentucky they do. The Humane Society Animal League for Life of Madison County hatched the creative combination to raise -- not money -- but dog food and cat litter.

Fitness director Tracy Miller is leading a Move Your Paws Zumbathon, for which participants must donate the much-needed supplies in order to participate.

Now in its second year, Miller said of the charitable Zumabthon, “People see animals as disposable. When you look into the eyes of these animals, you can see their pain. They can’t tell their stories but I will.” Last year, 135 participants donated more than 600 pounds of pet supplies. For more information, click here.

As a zumba and pet lover -- this blogger had to discuss such a great event.
