Pet owners are dropping some serious cash on their pets this Halloween. The National Retail Federation revealed that they're expecting Americans will spend $310 million on costumes for their pets this year.

Curious about which pet outfits are the most popular? Well, if your furry friend is dressed as a pumpkin: he or she won't be the only one. The autumnal staple topped the NRF's poll of most popular pet costumes.

The 10 top-selling costumes are:
  • Pumpkin
  • Devil
  • Hot dog
  • Bee
  • Cat
  • Witch
  • Bowties/fancy collars/bandanas
  • Pirate
  • Dog
  • Ghost
And if you're curious about Halloween costume stats outside of just pets: the NRF found that in total, Americans will spend $6.68 billion on Halloween this year. If you think $310 million on pets is a lot, the costs get into the billions when it comes to people costumes. $1.2 billion will reportedly be spent on adult costumes, while parents will fork over $1 billion for their kids to dress up.
