On October 5th, the world lost a visionary and an inspiration when Apple founder Steve Jobs passed away at the age of 56.

Aside from acknowledging Steve's obvious and extraordinary contributions to technology, fans reacted to the news of death by quoting his words of wisdom; mantras that inspired a generation to dream, do and discover.

Among the lines continuously retweeted on Twitter: "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life." and "Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice."

He poignantly said at Stanford's 2005 commencement: "Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

Prayers for Pablo

On the same day that Jobs passed away, a dear friend of the WebVet family, Pablo the Cat, received an upsetting cancer diagnosis.

To be reminded of life's fragility is difficult, but as Steve reminded the world, it's also a spring board to live the way you dream, and love those that make your heart full.

Hopefully Pablo will follow in Steve's footsteps and long outlive his prognosis. He's already embodied Steve's message: living exactly the way he wants, and any cat would dream -- surrounded by love, affection, tuna and tennis.

Pablo has also inspired others, namely his mother, to reach out to, rescue and care for other pets in need of the saving grace that he received. Whether he lives one year or a hundred more, he's set that cycle in motion, and countless other animals will benefit over time.

Love your pets and let them inspire you. And if you're considering adopting one more -- remember what Steve said: follow your heart, you have nothing to lose.
