Marine discharged for throwing puppy off cliff

WASHINGTON -- A U.S. Marine who was videotaped throwing a puppy off a cliff has been kicked out of the Corps, and a second Marine involved in the incident has been disciplined, according to a statement released by the Marines.

Lance Cpl. David Motari, who was on patrol in Iraq, is being "processed for separation" and received non-judicial punishment, officials said in the June 11 statement. A second Marine, San Diego-based Sgt. Crismarvin Banez Encarnacion, received non-judicial punishment as well.
