JOLIET, ILL. -- Rodent and bird-infested pet food was seized from a Joliet, Ill.-based PETCO distribution center Monday, according to FDA officials. The infestation was discovered during inspections in April and May. There have been no reports of pet illness or death from the contaminated products, but consumers who have handled products from the center are urged to wash their hands thoroughly. If a pet has become ill after eating the food products, owners should contact their veterinarian and report illnesses to FDA state consumer complaint coordinators. Click here for the full story.
