Brief History
- Originated in the United States
- Developed by a gene mutation in New York farm cats in 1966
- Wirehaired cats had not been reported until then
- The first wirehaired cat was named Council Rock Farm Adams of Hi-Fi
- Accepted in the Cat Fanciers' Association in 1967

- Trim nails regularly

- Needs boosters by 12 weeks old
- Annual vet visit for checkups is important
